Cartier launched its most famous Tank model in 1917, and instantly became a classic. Cartier introduced many versions of the Tank in the following years. All of them are beautiful, but the Obus is unlike others, due to its special design.

The Obus is first introduced in 1929 and featured a square shaped case design, which immediately separates itself from the rectangular shape models that many collectors expect. There is another feature which is a distinctive element of this watch. The cool ‘bullet’ shaped lugs.

There are a few features we want to enlighten about this specific piece. The Obus obviously features the iconic design features we all know from Cartier. The classic Roman numerals. Now let’s dive into the case of this Obus which is obviously fitted with the iconic Roman numerals, but this isn’t your regular tank like we already said. The 18K Gold Obus is fitted with blue steel Breguet hands, in stead of the ‘regular’ sword-shaped hands we usually see at Cartier.
