The 1675 start its production in 1959 as follow-up of the 6542.
The GMT-Master was designed to meet the needs of pilots and frequent travelers. The red and blue bezel, which features a 24-hour scale, allowed wearers to track two time zones. This functionality was particularly useful for pilots crossing multiple time zones during flights.
The 1675 is by far our most favorite reference from the GMT Model due to its variety. There is so much beauty, rarity and uniqueness to be found. The 1675 is one of the most desirable models with collectors because of the different configurations. These small design changes are exactly why vintage watches are so interesting.
This particular example is from 1978 and shows you how special a vintage timepiece can be. Let’s start with the beautiful black matte dial which is complimented by puffy ‘creamy’ lume plots. Besides that the colour of the bezel slightly faded which makes it even more unique, because the aging process is always different with each piece.
