‌The Rolex Datejust 1601 was probably the benchmark for fine watchmaking in the 1960’s. there’s a good reason why there still so many around and it’s not just because they look pretty. They were well crafted mechanical masterpieces, ideal for the man who depended on accurate time keeping.

‌Many of this reference are to be found in stainless steel with the white gold bezel. A lot less are to be found in the two-tone yellow gold and steel variant. The one that seems to get more and more rare every day, is this beautiful two tone rose gold variant.

The rose gold adds a different kind of warmth to de watch almost giving the idea that it hugs you. It is also a completely different rose color then the one we see in the modern Rolex’s. this one blends a lot more to the skin making it very modest.
