These are watches we live for. This Cellini is a perfect example of the variety and interesting designs that you can still find in vintage watches. Rolex is mainly known for their sport models like, the Submariner, Daytona and GMT-Master which is why we first fell in love with Rolex. It’s normal to start with the ‘’classics’’, but eventually when you continue with your collecting journey you want something more special. It’s a pleasure to offer you this Rolex Cellini King Midas 4015.
What’s special about this one? Maybe you could better say, what’s not special about this one..
The design of the Rolex King Midas draws inspiration from the Parthenon temple of Athena in Greece. If you place the watch on its side with the winding crown up, you’ll see the triangular tip resembling the temple roof, while the thick bracelet represents the columns. There is immediately one person who comes in mind when you hear this design philosophy, Gerald Genta. The most famous watch designer which also made designs like the Royal Oak (inspired by a diving helmet) and Nautilus (inspired by a porthole on a ship) for example.
This piece is not only rare, but a conversation starter as well. The gold case combined with the blue dial with gold text is simply stunning. One feature we want to enlight? The strap. Have a look at that tapered strap. It just gives the watch that extra touch.
Don’t hesitate to send us any messages regarding this special bird.
