Positioned as a transitional model between the iconic vintage reference 1655, also known as the ‘Freccione’, and its successor, the reference 16570, the 16550 is highly sought after by collectors for its unique blend of vintage and modern features.
The most striking evolution of the 16550 was the introduction of glossy white and black dials adorned with applied 18k white-gold hour marker surrounds. These dials are important for the collectibility of the reference 16550. In particulier the white dials, which were crafted with a unique paint formulation prone to discoloration over time, resulting in a warm creamy patina.
